Tiana Dodson

With a decade as a body liberation facilitator and a lifetime of lived experience as a fat, biracial, queer, neurodivergent person, Tiana Dodson is well-versed in what it is to exist in a multiply-marginalized body. As an active co-creator of the Syllabus for Liberation, her work addresses how personal, community, and global liberation depend upon each other. Through her consulting services, group offerings, and public speaking, Tiana highlights the ways these systems of oppression are bound together and how we can push back against them.

Your body and your relationships... how are they related?

Hey there, Reader!

Do you ever think you're bad at relationships?

I know it's something that has crossed my mind time and again... when I'm in a conflict with someone else, when I'm feeling lonely, or when I'm not getting my needs met.

However, nourishing relationships are not due to some magic ability or serendipitous meeting of minds.

Nourishing relationships become so because the folks taking part in them are doing the work and using their relationship SKILLS.

Skills that all of us can learn, practice, and improve.

But, even after working hard to cultivate this skillset, so many of us struggle to use our skills because we feel lacking, less than, unconfident, unsafe, or unworthy.

And that's got a lot to do with the fact that we've focused solely on our relationships with OTHER people, not with OURSELVES. And that includes our relationship to our bodies.

That relationship we have with ourselves and our bodies affects everything in our lives and is the foundation of my work.

If you're curious to hear more about it, then you can check this out: I had the pleasure of digging into this topic for the 2023 Healing Toxic Relationships Super Conference.

It's a free online event featuring over 70 folks who will be sharing their opinions and work on how to improve your relationships.

You can register free here: https://xz684.isrefercom/go/HTRSC/tianadodson (Note: this is an affiliate link, so if you purchase anything in relation to the Conference, I will receive a commission.)

We've all heard that thing RuPaul says about self love, and I both agree and don't... because NUANCE. And you can sign up to listen in on my take for free.

I hope to see you there!

In love, liberation, and solidarity,

Sent with big fat love from a messy desk and a neurodivergent mind.
