If we must labor...

Hey hey Reader.

Today is Labor Day in the US and for many folks, that means that it's a day with a bit less labor than any regular weekday.

If you're someone who is being invited to rest today but have already planned 32 things to get done, I'd like to encourage you to take this opportunity to get some good downtime in.

Rest can look a lot of different ways and can be done for any amount of time. So, if you can, find something that rejuvenates you and spend some of your Labor Day in that way.

And, for us who weren't invited to rest today, see if you can find some around the margins, in the in-betweens, and maybe even right in the middle of some of the somethings.

We all deserve rest.

And that includes you.

However, if we must labor, let it be in service to our ability to thrive.

Let us change the whys and hows of our labor.

Let us minimize the labor we do in service of greed and hustle and exploitative growth.

Let us labor with purpose.

Let us labor with care.

Let us labor with love.

Let us labor with our eyes and minds and hearts oriented towards liberation.

Let us expand into labor for justice and equity and belonging.

Let us labor for the world where you and your body belong.

In love, liberation, and solidarity,

"I needed this time and space to go back to the basics. This was literally one of the best uses of my time in such a long time. Thank you so much for the invitation to take this time for myself. It was so helpful!"

This gorgeous feedback shared by an attendee of the August 24th Live Co-Doing Workshop affirmed the magic of making time to re-examine what we're doing and realigning our actions and intentions.

If you missed the August 24th event, you've got another chance this Saturday, September 7.
